Azerbaijan and France discuss cooperation in the space sector

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received President and General Director of the Astrium Company Francois Auque and Director of International Development at European Aeronautic Defence and Space (EADS) Jean-Pierre Talamoni.Participating at the meeting, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Monnier assessed the launch of the first Azerbaijani satellite into orbit as a historic event and underlined further support from the French government in implementing the satellite programs of Azerbaijan.Francois Auque informed about projects implemented by the company.Assessing the launch of Azerbaijan's first artificial satellite into orbit as a new chapter in the development of the space industry, the Azerbaijani president expressed gratitude for the support.Having stressed that France is one of the main partners of Azerbaijan in many fields, President Aliyev expressed hope that cooperation in ICT and the space industry will continue further, News.az reports.
