Journalism Master School opens in Sukhumi

 

The North-South Center for Political Analysis has opened the Journalism Master School in the Abkhaz capital of Sukhumi. Most participants in the event are students of the journalism faculty of Abkhaz State University. Dozens of Abkhaz journalists are expected to attend training on April 22-24.

The program of the school includes a multimedia masterclass and lectures. Gennady Bordyugov, a Russian historian and head of the International Council of the Association of Researchers of Russian Society, will read a lecture entitled “Information image of the country: demands of the authorities and society”. Olga Peskova, Vice President of the Company for Development of Public Relations, will read a lecture entitled “Media vs PR: unity and struggle of opposites”. Yuri Tavrovsky, a professor of the faculty of international journalism of the People’s Friendship University of Russia, and Kirill Privalov, an observer of the Itogi Journal, will read lectures.

The Journalism Master School will visit Ochamchir, organize lessons in Sukhumi schools and present books at the Russian Book House. The Journalism Master School has previously been held in Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan.

The Caucasus Journalism School will be held in Sochi in November-December 2013.
