Kazakhstan transports two combat helicopters to Russia illegally

 

Siberian customs officers have initiated a criminal case for transporting Mi-26 helicopters from Kazakhstan, ITAR-TASS cites spokeswoman of their customs office Asya Molodtsova.

The helicopters were made by the USSR Defense Ministry in the 1980s and were left in Kazakhstan after the collapse of the Soviet Union. They were moved to Novosibirsk without license.

People responsible for transporting the helicopters illegally may get 3-7 years of prison.
