Over 20 people who lost relatives in the Krymsk flood of July 6-7 are testifying. Six of them said they had been unaware of the flood, others say they had gotten no aid when the disaster had started.
Trial of ex-head of the Krymsky District Vasily Krutko, ex-deputy head of the directorate for warnings in emergency situations and civil protection of the district Victor Zhdanov, ex-head of the Nizhnebakansky Village Irina Ryabchenko and head of the Krymsky City Settelement Vladimir Ulanovsky on May 15.
The investigation has been ongoing for 8 months. 137 are victims in the case. Over 2,500 witnesses have been questioned. The case consists of 200 tomes.
The four are charged with forgery, negligence and a fraud attempt to receive payments. Instead of taking measures to save the people, they were busy finding excuses for negligence. Zhdanov went even further by putting his house on the list of buildings damaged by the flood, though his house was never touched by the flood.
34,650 people suffered from the flood, 168 died, including 153 in the Krymsky Districts.
