Aleksandr Khloponin takes personal control of investigation into terrorist attack in Makhachkala

Alexander Khloponin, the President's  Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District,  took the investigation into the two explosions in Makhachkala under his personal control, RIA News reports."Operative-investigative activities are in process, all information goes directly to the envoy, he is continuing to monitor the investigation," Natalia Platonova, Khloponin's press-secretary, told RIA News. According to information as of 18:00 MSK, an explosion killed three and injured 44 people, including one child. About half of the victims are police officers. Investigators have qualified the explosions in Makhachkala, which took the lives of three people, as a terrorist attack, the official representative of the Investigative Committee, Vladimir Markin, said. A case has been opened under the articles "terrorist attack", "arms trafficking", "illegal manufacture of weapons and explosives," and "deliberate destruction of property."
