Police colonel takes his own life in Kabardino-Balkaria

A police officer committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol in the Baksan district of Kabardino-Balkaria, a representative of the republic's Investigation Department said today. "Around 17:30 MSK in a private house in the city of Baksan, a 45-year-old deputy chief of the Department for combating offenses in the consumer market of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kabardino-Balkaria killed himself with shot to the head from his service Makarov pistol," RIA News quotes the source. The officer died at the scene. "An investigative team has arrived at the crime scene, a crime scene examination is being conducted, the circumstances of the incident are being investigated," an investigator said.
