A ferrous alloy factory in Zestafoni is on strike in Imereti. Strikers demand wages to be increased by 50% and night-time shifts to be paid 20% more and collective contracts to be developed.
Maka Kvaratskhelia, head of the PR department of the factory, said that the administration did not tolerate ultimatums and will not continue dialogue. Wages will not be paid for the time spent on strike. The sides failed to reach an agreement on collective contracts.
The factory’s staff held a preliminary strike on May 16, only to be ignored by the administration.
