The infrastructure of the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi is designed so that on some days the audience will be able to visit six events where medals will be played for at once, the head of the Organizing Committee "Sochi-2014", Dmitry Chernyshenko, announced.
"The infrastructure of our games is the most modern in the world. Virtually all of the facilities were created from scratch, and they are newer, more innovative and smarter than all other similar stadiums and tracks," Chernyshenko said in an interview with the newspaper "Sport-Express", Interfax reports.
"And not just the sports facilities," he continued. "For example, the combined road will erase the boundary between the coastal and mountain clusters. At all previous Games the commute to the mountain facilities took a very long time. And in Sochi there will be no issue to get from the Olympic Park to Krasnaya Polyana, thanks to three roads with a total capacity of up to 20,000 passengers per hour. Should one set this up as a goal, on some days one could visit up to six medal competitions a day. This is the highest figure in the history of the Winter Games."
