Moscow bombs revenge for North Caucasus operations – lawmaker

Monday’s deadly bombs in the Moscow metro were revenge by radical Islamic terrorists for counterterrorist operations in the North Caucasus, a Russian member of parliament said.

“This is revenge - a response,” Communist Party lawmaker Viktor Ilyukhin told Rosbalt.

He also said that the Russian security forces should have prepared for such a “response.”

“They should have been prepared for a response by the militants,” he added.

Russian investigators say 37 people died in Monday’s blasts. Two female suicide bombers are suspected of having detonated the bombs.
