Lieutenant-General Martin Karapetyan has filed a resignation note after the murder of a cadet at the Armenian Military Institute named after Vazgen Sarkisyan, press secretary of the Armenian Defense Ministry Artsun Ovannisyan says on Facebook.
Defense Minister Seyran Oganyan had a special meeting for the murder case and ordered a scrupulous investigation.
Armen Melkumyan, a third-course cadet, shot at Sipan Movsisyan of the same course during a guard switch on June 1. Movsisyan died at the Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center.
Preliminary investigations say that the murder was provoked by an argument.
