Armenian media have reported the resignation of the governor of the Syunik region, Suren Khachatryan, with reference to their own reliable sources, although the press service of the government knows nothing of the news.
It has been reported that Khachatryan voluntarily took this step after the arrest of his son, being well aware that President Serzh Sargsyan will ask him to resign.
The press service of the government said they had not received information regarding the matter. The telephones of the press service of the administration of the Syunik region are silent. Employees of other departments of the regional administration said they did not have reliable information on the subject.
As reported earlier, there has been an incident involving gun fire on Sunday night at the cottage of the governor of the Syunik region.
