Murat Telibekov, head of the Muslim Union of Kazakhstan and the Muslim Committee for Human Rights in Central Asia, has been detained at the Bostandyksky Police Station of Alma Ata, Interfax cites his wife Yekaterina Chekanova.
She explained that Telibekov had been detained to prevent his meeting with the Alma Ata akim.
