Makhachkala Mayor Sayid Amirov murdered investigator Arsen Gajibekov due to a sudden inspection at the administration of the Sovetsky District of Dagestan, Kommersant cites the Russian Investigative Committee.
Amirov was detained on the International Children’s Day and taken to Moscow. He refuses to admit guilt. 11 more people are involved in the case, including an assistant of Kizlyar prosecutor Magomed Abdulgalimov. Investigators accuse deputy head of Kaspiysk Yusup Japarov and an investigator of the Kirovsky Police Department of Makhachkala Magomed Akhmedov of being accomplices. Magomed Kariyev is the suspected murderer.
