The FSB director Alexander Bortnikov said today, after a meeting with the heads of special services, security agencies and law enforcement agencies of several partner-countries of the Russian security services, that there are currently at least 200 Russians involved in the fighting in Syria, on the side of the opposition.
"The activities of terrorist organizations in North Africa and, above all, in Syria were discussed at the meeting. The fact that about 200 militants from Russia are fighting on the side of the "Caucasus Emirate" under the banner of Al Qaeda and other affiliates, causes concern to Russia," RIA News quotes Bortnikov.
