Makhachkala Mayor Sayid Amirov detained in Moscow attempted a suicide by cutting his arms and legs, RIA Novosti reports.
His lawyer Almaz Kaziyev denied the suicide attempt and said that the client had no cuts. Another lawyer Mark Kruter said he was unaware of any suicide attempts and added that he failed to meet Amirov at Lefortovo.
The Basmanny Court will consider the Investigative Committee’s initiative to dismiss Amirov as the mayor.
