A state nature reserve will be created in Russia's Anapa in the Krasnodar Territory to replace the ‘Bolshoy Utresh’ closed wood in the autumn of 2010, RIA Novosti says.
Ecologists have expressed concern about the condition of Bolshoi Utresh, the only place where juniper woods of a Mediterranean type exist in Russia. The zone was declared closed in 1996 and the order on the nature reserve is due to be signed in September or October.
