Fire at branch of Armenian National Art Gallery in Yerevan

 

A fire was localized at the Museum of Martiros Saryan, an branch of the Armenian National Art Gallery on one of the central streets of Yerevan, at 0.16 am and put out at 0.34 am today, the Armenian Ministry for Emergencies reports.

10 square meters were on fire at the first floor of the building.

The museum was built near the house and workshop of Martiros Saryan. It became part of the National Art Gallery in 1967. The second and third floors of the 3-storey building contain works of the artist made in 1898-1970s. The first floor is dedicated to his sketches.
