Istanbul authorities and demonstrators start silent protest

Supporters of the Turkish government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and its opposition started silent protests, initiated two days ago, RIA Novosti reports.

Vice Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said that it was their right to express protests in a silent manner, but expressed concerns about possible health problems caused by staying on their feet for 8 hours. Turkish Interior Minister Muammer Guler said that the police will not interfere, unless the protesters cause any disorders.
