The Istanbul Association of Tourism and Hotels says that hotels in the city were only 45% full due to the disorders at the Taksim Square and the Gezi Park.
216,000 people who had booked rooms have cancelled them. As a result, hotels suffered economic losses of about 54.6 million euro.
Shops, restaurants and cafes on the Taksim Square lost $20.75 million over the protests.
