The police of Azerbaijan said that Akif Muradverdiyev, 63, ex-executive secretary of the president, was detained for smuggling golden coins minted by the Russian Empire, Trend reports.
The official was detained at the International Airport of Heydar Aliyev last morning. He was planning to visit Russia. Muradverdiyev was detained for two months, his lawyer Fuad Agayev said.
