The official opening ceremony of the fifth International Youth Congress was held today in Istanbul. This year, representatives of 147 countries will take part in the 12 day program,TRT reports.
High-ranking officials greeted the participants of the Congress, who will have an opportunity to visit 30 provinces of Turkey and familiarize themselves with Turkish culture and traditions.
The First International Youth Congress took place in 1999 in Hawaii.
