Makhachkala imam predicts tensions over ban of hijabs at school

Magomedrasul Saaduyev, the imam of the central mosque of Makhachkala, said at the anti-terrorist commission on Wednesday that adoption of school uniforms and bans of Shariah clothes may cause social tensions and school boycotts.

Dagestani acting President Ramazan Abdulatipov agreed with Saaduyev and added that he had filed proposals on the issue. He said that he had proposed development of a new uniform with the Ministries of Education and Culture and the Muslim Administration.
