Azerbaijan to help in putting out Russian fires

Two Ukrainian An-32 planes and two helicopters from Azerbaijan will be used to put out fires in Russia, 1news.az reports, citing PRIME-TASS.


Russia's Minister of Emergencies, Sergey Shoygu, said at a meeting with President Dmitry Medvedev that it would be beneficial to accept help from Ukraine and Azerbaijan. The total number of aircraft used in putting out fires has now reached 60 units.


Rosbalt reported earlier that the Ministry of Regional Development had prepared a plan to fight fires across much of the central part of European Russia, namely the Belgorod, Voronezh, Vladimir, Ivanov, Moscow, Kirov, Lipetsk, Nizhni Novgorod, Ryazan, Tambov, Tula, Ulyanovsk areas and the republics of Mordovia and Tatarstan.
