The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has organized an ecology school for journalists in Azerbaijan on Tuesday, to increase the level of knowledge and information of journalists in the environmental sphere, Trend reports.
The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Guseyngulu Bagirov, said that the environmental issue is becoming more topical and there is need for better knowledge in the sphere.
The lessons will be held for one hour per week. The subjects are ‘The state policy of Azerbaijan in ecology’, ‘Monitoring of the environment’, ‘Protection of biological diversity in Azerbaijan’, ‘Ecological propaganda’ and others.
The minister said that the school will function for a year and the journalists will receive diplomas.
The Azerbaijani president has declared 2010 the Year of Ecology.
