Kabardino-Balkarian Leader Arsen Kanokov announced quarantine in the republic yesterday. Symptoms of foot-and-mouth were registered in Nizhny Kurkuzhin in the Baksansky District of Kabardino-Balkaria, Interfax reports.
A veterinary and police post is operating 24/7 in the area.
