Maksim Shevchenko accuses liberal media of anti-Caucasus campaign

A member of the Presidential Council for Inter-Ethnic Relations, the journalist Maksim Shevchenko, has shared his opinion concerning the situation in the Russian town of Pugachev, where local residents started an uprising after the killing of a young man by a Chechen person.

According to Shevchenko, it's not the uprising that is remarkable, but the anti-Caucasus coverage of the event by the liberal media.

He also underlined that the killing did not have a racist undertone. He notes that the accused murderer was reported to the police by local Chechens

According to the journalist, special attention should be paid to this anti-Caucasus campaign. It's a campaign that aims at promoting inter-ethnic hatred, he says.
