In the course of carrying out a large-scale operation in the vicinity of the village of Bursch in the Lak district of Dagestan, two gunmen who had shot four police officers the day before have been killed.
According to law enforcement agencies, the members of illegal armed groups were barricaded in an abandoned building 6 kilometers from the village of Bursch.
"One of the gunmen was eliminated at noon today. Security forces caught up with the other gunman in the forest, as he was trying to escape. The militants' identities are being established," RIA Dagestan reports.
As previously reported, four police officers were killed on July 14 near the village of Bursch in the Lak district.
