Two police officers were killed in a special operation in the mountains of Dagestan, a source in the law enforcement bodies of the republic said.
"During the special operation carried out in the Lak district of Dagestan, two police officers were killed," RIA Novosti quotes the source.
The representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan reported that police were attacked by unidentified persons. "During a raid in the Lak district, while the police were searching the countryside, unidentified persons fired at the police. The officers died from their injuries," the representative of the ministry said.
The search for the perpetrators is continuing.
