Those responsible for putting a metal safe with criminal files to scrap in Stavropol Territory have been identified, the press service of the regional MOI reported.
According to the police, during a relocation to a new building a military officer sold safes to a metal collection point "out of selfish interest".
For an offence defamatory to the honour of an officer, the lieutenant was discharged on July 12. A procedural decision will be taken regarding the former police officer, Interfax reports.
Disciplinary action was also taken in respect of the officer's commanders. Some of them have been demoted.
