Four children with meningitis found on Sochi-Moscow train

4 out of 17 children taken off the Sochi-Moscow train in Kursk on July 16 had meningitis. A total of 292 children were on the train. Six children were hospitalized in Kursk, 9 in Voronezh, one in Oryol and one in Moscow, ITAR-TASS reports.

Examination of children at the Kursky Train Station continues. The four children with meningitis were hospitalized in Voronezh.

An outbreak of meningitis was registered in Veliky Ustyug. 9 children with symptoms of meningitis were hospitalized on July 6-13, spokeswoman of the local healthcare department Anna Chkhetiani said.

Meningitis outbreaks were registered in Moscow, Astrakhan, Voronezh and Rostov-on-Don this summer. The epidemic in Rostov-on-Don is believed to originate from China.
