Sergey Chepurny, head of the Tarumovsky District of Dagestan, is suspected of beating up shepherd Magomed Ashurilov in October 2012, RIA Novosti reports.
Investigators say Ashurilov’s sheep were depasturized where they were not supposed to, provoking insults and beating.
Chepurny was suspected of causing bankruptcy of a municipal enterprise earlier and may get jailed.
