Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has written on his Twitter account today that a contract killing of the head of the republic's water supply company has been prevented. A special operation was carried out with an imitation of the death, and the person behind the killing has been apprehended.
The websites of the Head of the Republic and the Chechen government report that the projected victim of the failed assassination was the deputy director of "Grozvodokanal", Aslan Chekuev, and the client was the deputy chief accountant of the organization. By killing her superior she hoped to hide the theft of oney from the company.
"Tamila Yusupova was arrested at the moment she was transferring the money. Aslan Chekuev is safe back home. The mayor of Grozny met with his family and updated them on the details of the operation," the website of the government of Chechnya reports.
