Colleagues of the chief doctor of the Filippsky hospital, Vyacheslav Kashnikov, who has been fired because of a row with the USE, decided today to fight for his return using dramatic methods: hunger strikes and mass resignations.
"The team needs to restore the position of chief physician, abolish the criminal case and isue an official apology in the media. Otherwise, we are willing to take extreme measures, including a hunger strike," RIA Novosti quotes the deputy chief doctor Svetlana Egorova.
Doctors also claim harassment by the authorities, and being threatened with collective dismissal. "There is no persecution there. We have no right to interfere in the investigation, and the case for the restoration of Kashnikov to his position is now being considered by the district court of Stavropol," the deputy head of the health department of Stavropol Elena Inyutina said.
She also said that the management board of the city health department plans to meet with hospital doctors to discuss the situation and their needs.
