Armenian ombudsman demands explanations for high transportation prices

Armenian Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan has filed a request for explanations for rising transportation prices from the Yerevan Mayor’s Office, ARKA reports.

He said that the mayor had promised to keep the prices unchanged 3-4 months ago. The ombudsman praised citizens delivering residents of Yerevan for free.

Transportation prices increased from 100 to 150 drams in Yerevan on July 20. Locals are protesting against the new prices. Some showmen, politicians and journalists organized the Free Car protest, giving people a lift for free.
