Israel praying for Rabbi Isakov

A special service for Rabbi Ovadyi Isakov was held on Saturday in all Israeli synagogues. The believers prayed for the health of the Chief Rabbi of Derbent, who was attacked by an extremist.

Rabbi is now in the Beilinson Hospital in Petah-Tikva and is reportedly feeling better.

On the same day Rabbi Isakov was visited by the newly-elected Chief Rabbi of Israel, David Lau.

The Israeli public has already welcomed the statement issued by Dagestani leader Ramzan Abdulatipov, who said that the attack was a terrible act of violence and that all those responsible for the crime should face severe punishment.
