The normal work of Moscow airports was affected by smoke from forest and peat fires, ITAR-TASS reports.
The most complicated situation is in the Domodedovo region, where visibility on the runway is only 375 metres. An official spokesman for the airport said that planes are taking off without limitations but the crew commanders must make the decision whether to land or not.
6 planes have so far landed at reserve airports, in Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo, as well as Kazan. One of the planes was carrying cargo.
Visibility in Vnukovo is 500 metres. The best visibility is in Sheremetyevo, where it is 1600 metres.
