Muslims in Kislovodsk (Stavropol Territory) intend to appeal the decision of the Regional Court on the demolition of two mosques in the villages of Belorechensky and Industria, the Imam of Kislovodsk, Aslan Shamanov said.
According to the Imam, the regional court justified the requirement of the Municipal Court on the demolition of two mosques built in these two settlements that are part of Kislovodsk.
"The parishioners intend to seek the abolition of the solutions in all higher courts, including the European Court," Interfax-South quotes the Imam.
Construction works in the mosques have been going on for eight years and were sponsored by donations, Shamanov said.
He also noted that "the buildings are almost ready, leaving only the inner work to be finished. Nevertheless, services are held there, as people have nowhere else to go," adding that these villages have a predominantly Muslim population.
