Almaty Mayor Akhmetjan Yesimov requested honouring of Alexander Goryunov to be awarded for sacrificing his life to prevent casualties that caused by his tanker, RIA Novosti reports.
Deputy Mayor Yuri Ilyin made a similar request earlier.
Goryunov’s truck filled with fuel caught fire on June 27. The fuel spread over streets, resulting in cars, trees and an eight-storey building catching fire.
