Muslims are marking Eid ul-Fitr. Chairman of the Russian Council of Muftis Ravil Gaynutdin congratulated them on the event. Damir Mukhetdinov, deputy head of the Muslim Spiritual Administration of the European Part of Russia, noted that Ramadan this year was especially tough for followers of Islam, because it happened during summer months with long days, RIA Novosti reports.

Muhammedgali Khuzin, Mufti of the Perm Territory, urged Muslims to do good deeds and fill their hearts with joy.
Ildar-Khazrat Alyautdinov, Chief Imam of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, congratulated Muslims and said that a feast will be organized at the mosque. He added that people will be congratulating each other on the Poklonnaya Hill on August 8-10.
