The Adjara Lifeguard Service has prohibited water-scooter trips on the Black Sea coast after several accidents, some of which resulted in casualties, Georgia Online reports.
One of the victims of the scooter-accidents was a Turkish citizen. Until now, there had been no regulations on maximum scooter speeds, so some fast-driving scooters crashed into people swimming.
After the rules for scooter-driving are worked out, the ban will be lifted.
