Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life questioned over 38,000 people speaking 80 languages in 39 countries of the world to learn about their attitude towards Sharia.
8% of the people questioned in Azerbaijan want adoption of the Sharia law, 12% in Turkey, 10% in Kazakhstan, 35% in Kyrgyzstan, 27% in Tajikistan.
The people questioned in Russia were mainly residents of Muslim areas. Thus, 42% of Russians wanted the Sharia law.
8% of people questioned in Azerbaijan want the Sharia law to be used to settle family disputes, 14% in Turkey and Kazakhstan, 44% in Kyrgyzstan, 33% in Tajikistan.
