Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili got stuck in the mountains together with the former Russian presidential adviser on economic issues and opposition leader Andrei Illarionov and Georgian MP Gogi Hachidze.
They began climbing Mount Kazbek (5033 m) on Monday. On his Facebook page Hachidze reported that due to bad weather the climbing had to be postponed. The president stopped at a "meteobase" in the mountains.
"I'm staying at a "meteobase" on the way to Mkinvartsveri (Kazbek in Georgian), and waiting for the weather to clear. Waiting. No entertainment here. Nothing to do. Time passes by very slowly ..." RIA Novosti quotes Gogi Hachidze.
