Grozny is hosting the Strong Family – Basis of Russia Conference today. Ombudsmen for children, officials of social structures will attend the conference of the Office of the Russian Presidential Ombudsman for Children and the Chechen administration, the Chechen government reports.
Russian Ombudsman for Children Pavel Astakhov has opened the plenary session with a report. He arrived in Grozny yesterday. Astakhov emphasized that support of the family and traditional family values were a strategic goal for the state policy.
Astakhov will meet Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov. The framework of the conference includes a plenary session, discussion platforms and major round-table talks on problems of the family and children. The second day of the forum will be dedicated to exchange of experience. The final plenary session and a roundup of the talks and discussions will take place on September 13.
Astakhov visited Chechnya in May 2013 and recommended Kadyrov to host the conference.
