A Zenit fan was sentenced on Monday by the Petrograd district court of St. Petersburg to a fine of one thousand rubles for trying to burn the flag of the Chechen Republic, the press-service of the court reported. The 23 -year-old detainee was charged under Article 20.1 Disorderly Conduct of the Administrative Code.
The young man declined to comment after the court session, and left the building accompanied by the police hiding his face, ITAR -TASS reports.
The incident took place on September 14, during a Russian Championship match between Petersburg Zenit and Grozny Terek. As reported by VK, on the match day police arrested 12 fans of Zenit for disorderly conduct and being in a public place while intoxicated.
