During the meeting between the Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan Elshad Iskandarov and the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran, Ali Janet, the Iranian minister said that Iran condemns the occupation of Karabakh and in this regard has always supported Azerbaijan's fair position.
Elshad Iskandarov expressed gratitude for the support of Iran and reported on an initiative of religious communities supported by the state committee to introduce the Karabakh Athan Kazi, 1news.az reports.
The chairman of the Committee said that the Karabakh azan, which sounded prior to the occupation of Karabakh and became a symbol of the liberation of Karabakh, is scheduled to announce the day of commemoration of victims of the Khojaly tragedy in the capitals of Muslim countries in solidarity with Azerbaijan.
Iranian interlocutors noted that this initiative deserves praise and support.
