“Mashuk 2010”: youngsters dream of cheap housing, own television channel and children

A delegation from Stavropol put forward several interesting projects. Sergey Chernyshov prepared a project for a youth township. This will consist of some 60 single-floor/two-storey houses 40-120 square meters each in area, costing around 10,000 roubles per square meter. These will be shared constructions, state institutions will only issue land parcels for the buildings and provide them with communications and utilities. The project could reduce prices for housing by 30-40%. By presenting the project at “Mashuk 2010”, Sergey wants it to be noticed and to get state support.
Elena Gorokhova put forward a project to create a North Caucasus information agency, to develop a common media space for youth in the North Caucasus and strengthen interethnic relations. Students from Pyatigorsk proposed a similar project. They suggested creating a youth TV-channel with programmes about famous people from the region and attractive places in the Caucasus to form a positive image of the region.
Alexandra Kalashnikova, Maria Gorbatovskaya and Olesya Menzhulina want to win a grant to realize their project for training center for foster parents. This center will support people who want to adopt a child and existing foster parents. This project has already been working in Stavropol since 2009, where a center offers free consultations with psychologists and lawyers.
