Armenian president presents amnesty initiative to parliament

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has presented an amnesty proposal to the National Assembly to mark the 22 anniversary of independence. The proposal came to parliament on September 30, Novosti Armenia reports.

The last time amnesty was declared in 2011. The decision was taken on May 25 to mark the approaching 20th anniversary of independence. The amnesty was extended to Sasun Mikaelian and Nikol Pashinyan convicted for the March 1, 2008 case.
