The Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations and the UN Alliance of Civilizations have signed a cooperation agreement, the Sate Committee announced.
The cooperation and strategic partnership agreement has been signed between the two parties at the annual high-level meeting of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Group of Friends in New York.
The agreement will bring the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN Alliance of Civilizations, which is the largest platform for intercultural and inter-religious dialogue globally to a new level. In accordance with the agreement, the activity of the National Tolerance Center, established jointly by the UN Alliance of Civilizations and the State Committee, and Azerbaijan's model for tolerance and multiculturalism will be supported and promoted.At the same time, the photo exhibition "Azerbaijan - A space of tolerance", organized on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, will be presented at the UN Alliance of Civilizations events, as well as at a forum which will be held in 2014 in Indonesia.
