Azerbaijani women with five or more children will be able to receive social benefits from the state. This issue has been discussed today at a meeting of the Social Policy Committee of the Milli Mejlis.
According to the chairman of the committee Hadi Radjabli, social benefits will be issued to mothers of large families, from the period when the youngest child turns one and up to the moment when the eldest of the children turns 18.
"IThere are more than 10,000 mothers with five or more children in Azerbaijan today. In Soviet Azerbaijan there were over 20,000 mothers with ten or more children," Radjabli said.
The amendments will enter into force on 1 January 2014.
