FSB agents of North Ossetia, local police, border guards and customs officers stopped trafficking of weapons from Georgia, RIA Novosti reports.
The weapons were shipped through South Ossetia. The gang trafficking guns used taxi drivers transporting passengers from Georgia to Russia. The drivers were unaware of the contents of packages they were asked to deliver.
One of the couriers with a CZ-75B pistol and five cartridges was caught at the Nizhny Zaramag Checkpoint. The courier was identified as a 32-year-old from South Ossetia and leader of the gang.
